CHINA: Suzlon today announced it was partnering the wind division of China Guangdong Nuclear (CGN) to develop 800MW of global capacity over the next three years.

CGN Wind Energy already owns around 3GW of installed capacity in China. The agreement with Suzlon covers the development of 800MW of wind capacity both in China and internationally.

A working team has been set up to explore the most viable projects globally, covering countries such as Brazil, South Africa and India.

Suzlon chairman Tulsi Tanti said: "We hope that Suzlon's extensive experience across 32 markets worldwide will be valuable for CGN in its endeavour to operate wind farms globally."

Suzlon is the world's sixth-largest turbine manufacturer with a 7.7% market share, according to the latest league table published by research analyst BTM consult. Similar recent research by Make Consulting found Suzlon to be joint-third largest, with a 7.6% share along with Siemens and Enercon.
